About the Rufus D. Land Family Bible and the Land Family Records Pages

I found, among my late father's papers, some rather low-image-quality xerographic copies of what appear to be the results of earlier genealogy research of the Land family by Ms. Mary Sue Scales Whisenant of Abilene, Texas.

One group consists of reproductions of the Rufus Land Family Bible, showing a "certificate" of the marriage of Rufus to Miss Ellen C. Ballew on March 8, 1886. The Bible pages list births, marriages, and deaths within the family in difficult-to-read handwriting.

Another group actually contains two types of documents. The first looks to me to be copied from a county record. It chronicles the births, marriages and deaths of the Land family. The second is a genealogical form, filled out by Ms. Whisenant during a period ranging from 1973 through 1975, covering two generations of the family of James Cahruth Land and Nancy Caroline Duncan Land, Rufus' parents, and it chronicles Rufus' ten brothers and sisters.
